Touchless Remote Concept

Touchless Remote Concept

Designer Joris Van Gelder has collaborated with the electronics company Bang & Olufsen for a prototype remote control originally designed for his thesis project. The remote was created for use in the kitchen, but its slick futuristic design would fit right in on your coffee table. The remote does away with buttons and switches in favour of a nearly touchless interface that prevents bacteria or other substances from being transfered onto the remote. Simple hand gestures rock the object back and forth as it makes the remote adjustments to the television.
