DIY Multi-Touch Interface

DIY Multi-Touch Interface

In the last few years, multi-touch displays and interactive systems have evolved from pieces of science fiction to reality. Whether you look at the miniature multi-touch system employed by the Apple iPhone or the high-end interactive table, Surface designed by Microsoft, this technology is now closer than ever to widespread adoption. Technology Review now points out a even more affordable open-source unit called 'Cubit'. The product is created by Addie Wagenknecht and Stefan Hechenberger of technology and design firm Eyebeam. They recently demoed the unit which only requires 'an "inexpensive" video camera and projector, among other small pieces of hardware'.
