Earlier this month the british architecture firm Foster + Partners announced plans for a new development in the Italian coastal town of Rimini. Well-known as a beach community, Foster’s plans include a massive development filled with mixed use facilities. The building plan aims to be very sustainable as well, making use of rainwater collection systems as well as solar voltaics. The plan also calls for a hotel tower to be located at the end of a long pier, situated 300 metre from the shore.
