Turn Your Drawings into Products

Turn Your Drawings into Products

Ponoko is 'the world's first personal manufacturing platform.’ the site enables users to make, share, sell and buy products that are digitally manufactured based on designs by users. The one caveat was that anyone wishing to design something needed to use design software in order to make their product with Ponoko. A new service offered on the site now opens up their service to anyone with a pen, paper and digital camera. ‘Photomake’ allows its users to submit designs they simply drew on paper and transform them into real products. The unusual thing about the products created in ‘Photomake’ is that every minor detail from the hand drawing is picked up by the machine and visible in the final product. More sophisticated users can even turn their jpg, gif or png files into products. Plus, ‘Photomake’ users can not only make their own design themselves, they can also sell it to other users on the Ponoko storefront.
