Cylindrical Solar Panels

Most people are very familiar with the common sheet form solar panel. Despite different iterations, this form has become the standard. However a new solar panel design aims to change this. The ‘Solyndra’ is a cylindrical solar receiver, which is said to generate more energy than its flat counterpart. These small tubes are also easier to mount and their compact form makes them less susceptible to wind resistance. While no major installation has been performed the design could offer a viable alternative for very big buildings.
