University of Tokyo researchers have developed a thin and stretchable material which can conduct electricity. The new material is possible thanks to research into elastic electronic circuits. These circuits can be stretched close to two times their size because of integrated carbon nanotube-polymer composite wires. In human speak that means “fancy stretchy wires”. This advance is ideal for usage in wearable technologies and robotics, where stretchable circuitry is an advantage.
