While most people don’t live in a robot laden universe like “The Jetsons”, robotics have come a long way. The “OSP” robot is a small swimming robot, which works in large numbers to contain oil spills in bodies of water. The robots team up to contain the oil spill by wrapping a barrier around the contaminated area, preventing further damage. The concept would definitely help clean up future spills but cannot prevent major disasters like the Exxon Valdez. The design is still in the concept phase and was created by Ji-hoon Kim.
